Biography
Nadine Souret earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She started her career in community mental health as an outpatient therapist for children and adolescents. She gained valuable experience treating a range of diagnoses and working with treatment teams to provide mental health services to underserved families in the South Los Angeles area. Following her time as a therapist, she remained in the nonprofit mental health field as a quality assurance associate, where she spent nearly two years training clinicians on service delivery and DMH paperwork, providing documentation support to mental health providers, and helping to develop agency workflows surrounding the implementation and documentation of services.
Throughout her time in the mental health field, she experienced a deep desire to focus her services on a specific aspect of personal identity: career development—a separate yet inevitably related field to mental health. Her long-standing passion for higher education and counseling led her to transition into Career Services at Pepperdine’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology, where she now helps the same students whose shoes she once walked in. In her current role as assistant director of career education and counseling, she provides career counseling to help students and alumni clarify their purpose, define their goals, and navigate their career journey. She also conducts in-class presentations, assists in planning and hosting Career Services events, and participates in the development of career education curriculum and training for Career Services student employees. Her goal and passion is to take part in the cultivation of active and engaged individuals who can contribute to the world of work through their unique callings.
